BLOG 2 Laundry, lesson planning and lurgy

BLOG 2 Laundry, lesson planning and lurgy

It’s the wee small hours of Sunday morning. Saturday was a bit of a disaster (!) … I woke up feeling good (or as good as you can with a throat infection after a busy few days) , went for breakfast, came up to my room to lesson plan. Struggled to get much done. I like lesson planning but have only ever planned one lesson at a time before (on CELTA) – with a couple of weeks in between. So this is going to be a big challenge to get into the swing of. I’ve not got the most structured and logical thinking. I have the ideas but need to get them onto paper in a clear and concise way. Will be using Busy Teacher, Film English etc and the ideas in the Scrivener ‘Teaching English Grammar’, the blue book with the shell on. For me, it’s really helpful.

Anyway … before I knew it lunchtime came around. Then I went with Aminah, Chloe & Simone to do my laundry. By this point I’m feeling really unwell. I have to abandon collecting the laundry and instead have a hot shower and go to bed around 5pm, taking paracetamol, propolis spray and another antibacterial spray.

I woke up 7 and a half hours later with no interruption. I’ve missed dinner, lesson planning and socialising. And locked Aminah out of her room because I have her key.

I do feel rested from my sleep. Now I just hope I will fall asleep again until nearer breakfast time. And then I will have to squish my lesson planning into tomorrow. Not ideal for my brain or my nerves!

It’s absolutely pouring with rain outside right now. I love that sound when I don’t have to go out in it!

Over and out ‘til next week.
